What We Do
Our Vision and Purpose
AHAA will:
Advocate for system-wide improvement in equitable access to healthcare for all New Zealanders, to the benefit of patients, patients’ families, and to healthcare professionals dealing with unmet need.
Collect experiential data relating to New Zealanders’ unmet healthcare needs, and use data obtained to lobby government for improvement in areas of access concern.
Encourage and assist research into access to healthcare and unmet need in New Zealand.
Advocate for a public inquiry into unmet colonoscopy needs of symptomatic patients within the SDHB region as evidenced in three separate reviews.
AHAA will not:
Provide personal advocacy for individuals. If you are seeking personal advocacy you can find alternative contacts here.
Consider data collection by AHAA to be adequate replacement of government efforts to quantify unmet need, as part of their responsibility to the citizens of New Zealand.
